The Heat Routine
As we approach the end of November, it is high time that I have the wood situation set for the year, but alas, I am still looking out at four cords of wood that need to be elsewhere. So where and why, one may ask.

The wood has been in these stacks for the past four months, and in theory, it was drying, but with all the rain this summer and fall, there has not been much drying going on. That is one reason the wood is still out: it will continue to dry on the days it can. Once I move it to the woodshed, the drying slows tremendously, even with two open ends on the building and plenty of airflows.

Today, I started moving wood into the woodshed. Less dry wood goes in first, so it has 4-6 more months to dry. Over the next few days, I hope to get the remainder of the wood moved out of the field. Most of it will end up in the woodshed.

But some of it will go directly into the boiler room to get us through December.
