Montreal Rain
Rainy Saturday morning at the end of April in Montreal, Quebec. As we look forward to some university experiences today with Amelia I’ve had a morning of walking about in the rain after a Montréal Canadiens victory last night over the Washington Capitals and even though it is raining, have a positive outlook in the general view of the world at this moment and have to take it while I can. Being here with Amelia, just having a moment to experience the city and think about the experience through her eyes, makes me hopeful, excited, and hopeful that she can find a spot here where she can be curious, experience a new world, and be safe and comfortable.
As I reflected last night and this morning, four years ago, as we looked at Colby with Elias, I looked at it through my eyes and how excited I would be to go to that campus and have that experience. Four years later, as we do the same with Amelia, I don’t see it through my eyes anymore. I see it rightly as her experience that will be happening in that feels so much more comfortable. It fits as college is something I’m not going to be doing, but they will, and it’s their Opportunity.
